Start a gratitude journal / create a gratitude jar
Part of being grateful is realizing what exactly you are grateful for. To write down everything that you are grateful for, start a gratitude journal. Anytime you think of something that you are grateful for, jot it down in your journal. You could also start a gratitude jar. Write on a slip of paper what you are grateful for, and put it in the jar. This way anytime you are feeling stressed about the Holidays, or maybe just glum from the cold weather, you can look back on everything you feel grateful for!
Donate food to Hope Mission
You should always give back to your community and help those in need, but you should do so especially during the Holiday season. The Holidays are a hard time to be alone, and an especially turbulent time to be cold, on the street, and without a home. To do what you can to help those in need, donate to our local Hope Mission, where lots of people in our community seek refuge.
Write thank you letters to the people in your life
Oftentimes we take people in our life for granted. Our moms, dads, grandparents, friends, even our pets at times. Get in the Thanksgiving spirit by giving thanks to the people in your life who you too often forget to thank. It does not have to be a long letter, just write something that lets them know how much you appreciate them!
Gratitude walk
Walk and think about all of the things in your life that you have to be grateful for. This helps particularly when you get yourself in a bad rut or mindset. Walking helps boost your mood and so does gratitude.
Thank you(s)!
Remember to say thank you in day to day life. Whether someone holds a door open for you or they stop you from backing into a pole, say thank you. By putting out gratitude and appreciation into the world, you attract the same!
